Placing Moms at the Heart

of Community Wellbeing

Mothers serve as a keystone within families and communities. Through caregiving, coordination, emotional regulation, and long-term responsibility, they develop and practice leadership capacities that shape how families function and how communities hold together.

Caregiving is a formative leadership environment. It builds skills essential to community wellbeing—anticipation, decision-making under pressure, relationship repair, and sustained contribution. Mothers demonstrate these capacities daily across home, work, and civic life, making their role a clear and practical example of how leadership is formed through care.

Project 8B Foundation begins with mothers as a visible and measurable example of caregiving as leadership—while recognizing that these capacities strengthen communities broadly.

Building With Care in Idaho

Idaho—home to nearly two million people–serves as the launchpad for our efforts to invest in caring bridge-builders. By leveraging the Built With Care research and partnering with organizations across sectors, we deepen insight and raise awareness about the importance of supporting mothers and community wellbeing in practical, measurable ways.

Collaborating for Impact

The Project 8B Foundation collaborates with Supreme Moms to advance the One-to-One Million Project—a statewide effort to strengthen community wellbeing by naming and supporting caregiving as formative leadership.

The One-to-One Million Project begins with mothers as a keystone example. Caregiving requires coordination, emotional regulation, long-term responsibility, and relationship repair—core leadership capacities that already sustain families, workplaces, and communities. By investing in mothers as caring bridge-builders, the project makes visible how leadership is formed through care and practiced in everyday life.

This collaboration translates research into action—building workforce pathways, strengthening families and leaders, and extending impact through a cascading model that reaches from individual caregivers to communities statewide.
